Travel to La Guajira, Colombia with our missions team, and assist in distributing food, water, filters, clothes, flip flops, and toys among the Wayuu indigenous families and children, participate in recreational and educational activities benefiting the Wayuu children, help in ministry as we spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and assist in keeping the order.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS TO TRAVEL WITH AHAVA HOUSE:
- If you are 18 or under, you must be accompanied by a volunteer adult.
- You must be able to volunteer on all working days of the mission trip.
- You must behave according to AHAVA HOUSE’s guidelines of good conduct outlined in the Volunteer’s Manual. You are expected to conduct yourself according to the highest standards of integrity and Biblical morality.
- You must be physically able to bear the work load, walk a lot, and lift 20-lb. packages under a 94º weather.
- You are required to take care of your own medical expenses in case of sickness, illness, or accident during the mission trip.
- You must be able to pay your own travel, accommodations, and food expenses.
- You are required to wear the AHAVA HOUSE T-shirt while active in the mission field. We provide 1 free logo t-shirt. If you’d like an additional t-shirt, the fee is $15/t-shirt.
- You must be able to complete training, in person or online.
- Your registration is subject to review and approval by our travel committee. You must submit all required information.
- Due to the limited number of trucks we are able to take into the desert, we’ll assign you to a mission trip based on space availability.
