2015 was AHAVA HOUSE’s first year in existence. We focused mostly on taking food and water to alleviate hunger and thirst to 6 Wayuu Rancherias. It was an amazing year, as we met so many wonderful indigenous leaders, children and parents, who opened their communities to us so we could bring aid. With so little we were able to make a difference in so many lives. We arrived to a Rancheria where the community was going on their 5th day without anything to eat. Our arrival was God sent. The barefoot children loved the new flip flops and we made lots of long-lasting friendships. Our team of volunteers grew quickly this year, and we are thankful for each one of them.
